Service Information

Policies & Disclosures

Please review our service disclosures and privacy information before scheduling an assembly. This page explains client responsibilities, possible additional charges, scheduling conditions, service limitations, and how information provided through the website or direct communications may be handled.

Important: Appointments are not finalized until you receive a confirmation email or text from Put It Together Assembly Services.

Before We Arrive

To help your appointment go smoothly, please review the policies below and make sure the correct product, color, and number of boxes have been delivered, the work area is accessible, and any required site preparation has been completed before the assembler arrives.

Quotes, Pricing & Scope of Work

  • Quotes are based on the information, photographs, product links, model numbers, box counts, and job-site conditions provided by the client.
  • If the actual product, condition, location, scope of work, or assembly requirements differ materially from the information provided, the quoted price may be adjusted before work continues.
  • Additional products, accessories, relocation, disassembly, site preparation, or other work requested after arrival are not automatically included in the original quote and may result in additional charges.
  • Inexpensive items that require assembly can cost as much for assembly, if not more. Examples include kids’ dollhouses, playhouses, play kitchens, and swing sets.
  • Large or unusually heavy items may require additional labor, an additional assembler, special handling, or additional charges.

Payment & Additional Charges

  • Payment is due upon completion of the agreed service unless other arrangements have been approved in advance.
  • Additional card reader or processing fees may apply to debit and credit card charges.
  • Additional charges will apply if the assembler(s) must relocate pre-existing items in order to place the newly assembled item.
  • Reasonable waiting-time or trip charges may apply when the assembler cannot begin or continue work because the product has not arrived, access is unavailable, the work area is not ready, or the client is unavailable.
  • Parking fees, access fees, or unusual access conditions may be added when applicable.

Client Responsibilities & Site Readiness

  • It is the client’s responsibility to make sure the correct product, color, and quantity of boxes have been received before the appointment.
  • The assembly area must be reasonably clear, safe, and accessible before arrival. Extra charges may apply if furniture, boxes, debris, snow, or other items must be moved to begin work.
  • The client is responsible for providing a properly prepared and reasonably level assembly area for outdoor products unless site preparation is specifically included in the written quote.
  • The client is responsible for determining whether permits, HOA approval, landlord/property-owner approval, setbacks, or other permissions are required for the project.
  • Children and pets should be kept away from the active work area while tools, hardware, packaging, and partially assembled components are present.
  • Trash and packaging will be bagged or consolidated neatly and left at the desired on-site location unless removal is specifically included in the quote.

Product Condition, Parts & Manufacturer Issues

  • The client is responsible for having all product boxes, parts, hardware, accessories, and manufacturer instructions available at the job site.
  • If parts, hardware, instructions, or components are missing or damaged, the client is responsible for obtaining replacements. A return visit may result in an additional trip or service charge.
  • Put It Together Assembly Services is not responsible for manufacturer defects, damaged components, incorrect or missing parts, poor factory fitment, misaligned holes, missing pre-drilled holes, or other product-related defects outside our control.
  • Products should be inspected by the client for shipping or delivery damage before assembly whenever practical.

Scheduling, Cancellations & Access

  • Schedule availability and appointment times may change as job durations, travel conditions, weather, and other scheduling factors change.
  • Appointments are not finalized until you receive a confirmation email or text from Put It Together Assembly Services.
  • Outdoor assembly jobs may need to be rescheduled due to severe or unsafe weather conditions.
  • Late cancellations, same-day rescheduling, no-shows, or appointments where access cannot be provided may be subject to a trip or scheduling fee.
  • When inquiring, we must be notified if a hot tub, spa, jacuzzi, pool, permanent structure, or other obstruction is already in place near the proposed assembly area. This may affect pricing or whether the project can be accepted.

Assembly Only / Service Limitations

  • Our standard service is product assembly. Electrical work, plumbing, gas connections, structural modifications, permanent construction, and other licensed-trade work are not included unless specifically stated in writing and legally permitted.
  • We do not attach, secure, or mount items to walls, floors, ceilings, or other surfaces unless the required hardware is provided with the original assembly kit and the work is within the agreed scope.
  • We are not responsible for delivery of the product, moving boxed merchandise between properties, or carrying oversized or unusually heavy products up or down stairs unless specifically included in the quote.
  • Due to their size and weight, we do not relocate treadmills up or down staircases.

Anchoring, Securing, Utilities & Surface Attachment

  • We do not secure sheds, trampolines, swing sets, gazebos, or other merchandise unless the required anchoring hardware is provided with the original assembly kit or otherwise specifically approved for the project.
  • A release of liability waiver must be signed before we perform anchoring or securing work that could involve ground penetration or similar site risk.
  • The client is responsible for identifying and clearly marking underground utilities and concealed site features, including electrical lines, gas lines, water lines, irrigation, drainage, invisible pet fencing, communication lines, and other buried systems before any anchoring work begins.
  • Put It Together Assembly Services will not be held responsible for damage to unmarked or inaccurately marked underground utilities or concealed systems.
  • A liability waiver may also be required if the client chooses to decline manufacturer-required anchoring or securing.

Projects Started by the Client

  • Large assembly projects already started by clients will be billed at an hourly assembly rate, beginning when the assembler arrives at the job and ending when the assembler departs.
  • Assemblers may need to start at the beginning of the manufacturer’s manual and inspect prior work to verify that the assembly is correct up to the point where the client stopped.
  • Time spent correcting, disassembling, sorting, or reassembling incorrectly installed parts is billable assembly time.

Completion, Inspection & Workmanship

  • Clients should inspect the completed assembly before the assembler leaves whenever possible and report any visible concerns promptly.
  • Any workmanship concern should be reported as soon as reasonably possible so the completed assembly can be reviewed. Manufacturer defects, normal product wear, settling, weather damage, misuse, relocation, modification by others, and product failures are not workmanship defects.
  • Any warranty or correction obligation applies only to the assembly work performed by Put It Together Assembly Services and does not replace the manufacturer’s product warranty.
  • Before-and-after or progress photos may be taken for job documentation. Photos will not be used for advertising or marketing without separate permission when the image identifies the client, home, or other private information.

Special Product Policies

  • We only assemble IKEA kitchen cabinetry. The client is responsible for hiring an appropriate contractor or installer to permanently install, level, secure, connect, or modify the cabinetry as required.
  • We can only warranty our shed assembly workmanship when the shed is assembled on a properly prepared, level concrete foundation. Assembly on pavers, grass, deck boards, gravel, or other surfaces may allow uneven settling, movement, or possible shed detachment.
  • We only accept playset projects that can reasonably be completed within one workday based on the product and site information provided before scheduling.
  • Outdoor products remain subject to manufacturer requirements for anchoring, placement, clearance, foundation, and ongoing maintenance.
Please review before your appointment: These disclosures are intended to clarify the normal scope of our assembly services. Manufacturer instructions and any written project-specific agreement or approved quote remain important to the work being performed.
